Kelly and Eric met in 2016 on the dating app Tinder. They had their first date one January day at the Jolly Pumpkin in downtown Ann Arbor and bonded immediately over a shared love of karaoke and folk music. They were inseparable all through the following year, until Kelly left Michigan to pursue her MFA at Arizona State University.


Divided by several states, Eric and Kelly remained close throughout her time in Arizona thanks to near-daily phone calls and a handful of visits. During the pandemic, Kelly and Eric didn't see each other in person at all for more than 18 months. Nonetheless, when it came time for Kelly to return to Michigan, the two excitedly began making plans to take their relationship to the next level.

Kelly returned to Michigan in the summer of 2022. By the end of that year, she and Eric had made a home together, along with Kelly's cat Margot. A few months later, in February of 2023, Eric asked Kelly to be his wife and she accepted.


Eric and Kelly have built their lives together through love and loss, new passions and hobbies, shared values in trust and communication, as well as their weekly Dungeons & Dragons campaign. They are grateful for the support of their community and being able to share the joy and excitement of their wedding day.
